When the exiled Duke Prospero uses his mastery of magic to shipwreck his enemies on the island where he and his daughter Miranda have lived for twelve years, the stage is set for a story of revenge, forgiveness, and wonder. Shakespeare's final masterpiece is full of poetry, mystery, and some of the most beautiful language he ever wrote. But that beauty can also make it one of the more challenging plays for students to navigate — especially when the magical elements and shifting loyalties require careful attention to follow.
